STANDARDS · VALIDATION · ENGINEERING ASSURANCE

Evidence before claims.

RAVAM qualifies new sensing and intelligence workflows through documented requirements, controlled testing, field correlation, independent review and operator acceptance.

RAVAM pipeline assurance framework
Requirement → Evidence → Acceptance
Assurance Principle

New technology becomes operationally useful only when its role and limits are defined.

RAVAM does not present UAV magnetometry, remote sensing or AI as replacements for established pipeline integrity methods. Each capability is assigned a specific decision role and an evidence pathway appropriate to the operator and jurisdiction.

METHOD ROLE

Define what the result means.

Separate localization, screening, monitoring and prioritization from defect confirmation or fitness-for-service decisions.

MEASUREMENT QUALITY

Document uncertainty.

Record calibration, geometry, background conditions, interference, processing history and confidence.

ACCEPTANCE

Agree the decision threshold.

Define verification triggers and acceptance criteria with the operator before operational scale-up.

Reference Frameworks

Standards are selected by method, decision and jurisdiction.

These frameworks may inform project requirements where applicable. Final compliance obligations and editions are confirmed with the operator, competent engineers and relevant authorities.

Regional and operator requirementsApplicable Serbian, EU, national, GOST and operator standardsProject-specific compliance matrix identifying governing law, technical rules, contract requirements and acceptance authority.
Important: referencing a standard does not mean certification or automatic compliance. Applicability, edition, scope and acceptance must be confirmed for each contract.
Method Boundary

Clear exclusions protect the integrity decision.

Public and contractual language should distinguish measured observations, interpreted anomalies, verified conditions and confirmed defects.

RAVAM CAN SUPPORT
  • Corridor localization
  • Anomaly screening
  • Evidence correlation
  • Change monitoring
  • Targeted verification planning
  • GIS integration and operator decision support
RAVAM DOES NOT CLAIM WITHOUT QUALIFICATION
  • Defect type classification
  • Metal-loss sizing
  • Remaining-strength calculation
  • Automatic fitness-for-service acceptance
  • Replacement of ILI and direct examination
Validation Roadmap

Build confidence in stages before operational scale-up.

The exact program depends on pipeline construction, operating history, available ground truth, terrain and the decisions the operator intends to make.

01

Requirements baseline

Define use case, performance questions, exclusions, datasets and acceptance authority.

02

Controlled testing

Verify sensor behavior, calibration, repeatability, interference controls and processing traceability.

03

Field correlation

Compare observations with known pipeline features, records and selected direct evidence.

04

Blind evaluation

Test the method against undisclosed locations or conditions using agreed statistical measures.

05

Independent acceptance

Document results, limitations, operating procedures and the approved scope for deployment.

Evidence Chain

Every result should be reproducible and reviewable.

The project record connects field acquisition to processing, interpretation, verification and the final operator decision.

Integration & Responsibility

Integration expands value—and expands responsibility.

Connections to GIS, CMMS, ERP, SCADA or other operational systems are designed around least privilege, traceable interfaces, operator ownership and appropriate separation from safety-critical control.

DATA OWNERSHIP

Operator-controlled information

Access, retention, hosting and export requirements are agreed contractually.

CYBERSECURITY

Controlled integration

Authentication, authorization, logging, segmentation and change management match the integration risk.

HUMAN AUTHORITY

No implied automatic control

Safety-critical actions require separate authorization, engineering and validation beyond analytics or alerting.

Engineering Assurance

Agree the evidence pathway before deployment.

RAVAM can develop a qualification plan around the operator's pipeline, available ground truth and required decisions.
